The new surprise subway strike that began this Friday at 7 p.m. generates chaos in the city. In this context, journalist Guillermo Lobo spoke with the deputy secretary of the Union Association of Underground and Premetro Workers (AGTSyP), Néstor Segovia, but the interview became tense when the journalist asked about his salary. “I can’t tell you how much I earn,” Segovia complained.
When Segovia referred to the fight between the metrodelegates over the joint elections, Lobo asked him what category he has, but he responded, annoyed: “Is it interesting to know my category?”

The friction began when Lobo told him about the large number of passengers who needed the service.
“Unfortunately this is not our fault, it is the fault of the company (Emova) and the City Government, since they asked us for an impasse a week ago. The strikes were lifted, (they told us that) they were going to respect all the negotiating tables and, even, the joint one, and today, we had breakfast that They do not call us to discuss the joint agreement and they sign downward with a union that is not representing the subway workers, and we are not going to allow that in any way,” denounced the union representative.

“But you do not have legal status,” the journalist insisted. “We have total legitimacy. That’s why we stopped the subway. If not, he would be walking. «They have to respect us as such,» Segovia stated and added: “We have been discussing joint agreements for 15 years and, from one day to the next, we do not have the legitimacy? Something happens».
It was at that moment that Guillermo Lobo asked him what category he has, which led Segovia to answer, visibly upset: “Is it interesting to have my category?”. To which the journalist stressed that yes, because they were talking about the protest over the salary increase.
“I couldn’t tell you how much you earn, and you surely earn more than me. The truth is that «I can’t tell you how much I earn because we are in a very difficult country and if I say how much I earn, I go out, they beat me up and they rob me.»argued the secretary.

The crossing intensified, which led Segovia to exclaim: “You have to show your face when you have journalists like you, who try to expose you” and, later, he claimed: “I don’t know if you found out, as a journalist, that the This year’s inflation is going to be triple digits. What we do not want is to discuss less than three digits the parity of this entire year.”
“I didn’t say that I earn a lot of money, that’s what you’re saying,” Segovia defended himself when the journalist suggested that the amount of his salary was high. In addition, he pointed out that this measure also seeks to get Emova to negotiate with them directly.

The question about the secretary’s salary was sustained, which infuriated him: “I’m not going to tell you how much I earn because it is disrespectful to my colleagues. but they surely earn more than TN employees. I put on my face, I wish I could be the representative of your colleagues so that they have a raise like the people on the subway have. «I would like all of you to earn more than 300 thousand pesos and have decent conditions to work.»

In an attempt to close the interview, Lobo insisted that he wanted to know the percentage increase that the workers are fighting for, but the secretary repeated: “I already told you, we want to discuss the joint agreements and then we will see, but We cannot lose to inflation, as the UTA signed a 15% decrease and, if they give you an increase, it is based on a premium and does not go to the base. That’s a robbery. «I am not going to allow any maneuver by the City Government and the company so that our workers lose a cent.»
