In Season 1 of The Pitt, Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) had a complex relationship with her mother, Dr. Shamsi (Deepti Gupta). I am eager to see more about her family dynamics in Season 2. The real-time format of the show only allowed us to learn fragments about the cast in Season 1. For example, we only discovered that Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) and Dr. Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) were related through context clues and references to their past. The same was true for Javadi and Dr. Shamsi, although we could sense the strained mother-daughter relationship.
Throughout Season 1, Javadi appeared ashamed of Dr. Shamsi and sought to distance herself from her mother. It was only when Shamsi was in the emergency room that her colleagues found out about their relationship. Javadi explicitly expressed to Dr. McKay (Fiona Dourif) that she didn’t want to live in her mother’s shadow. The complex dynamic between Javadi and Shamsi could be further explored in Season 2, but there is also another family member of Javadi’s worth exploring. Javadi mentioned that her father has played a role in her professional career alongside Dr. Shamsi.
Javadi revealed that her father also works at the hospital in The Pitt.
Javadi’s mother is a surgeon, but her father also works as an endocrinologist at PTMC.
Despite the ongoing tension with Dr. Shamsi, Javadi also has another family member working at PTMC.
