Argentina is fertile land for medium-sized pickups. The Toyota Hilux, Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier and Renault Alaskan are already manufactured in the country. And three more will be manufactured soon: the Fiat Titanothe Peugeot Landtrek and the mid-size Ram.
Ram’s new Argentine pickup will be, in reality, almost identical to the Titano and Landtrek, which in turn They are clones of the Kaicene F70the flatbed produced by the Chinese giant Changan.
These clones are common in the car universe and mainly in the pickup segment. The same goes for the Alaskan and the Frontier, which are virtually identical.
The difference between the Titano, Landtrek and the Ram version will surely be minimal. The logo of each brand will change, of course, and some minimal detail of equipment, but in itself all three will be the same product.
When will the future national pickups arrive?
From Stellantis, a firm that brings together Fiat, Peugeot and Ram, among other brands, They have not yet confirmed the production of these pickups in Argentina. However, it is an open secret. It won’t be long until they finally officially announce it.
In the Ram range, the Argentine pickup would be positioned between Rampage and 1500. In the Fiat range, above the Toro. And in the Peugeot one it will remain the only option with a cargo box, since the old and compact Hoggar was discontinued a while ago.
Based on rumors that are getting louder and louder, the flats will be equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with 200 horsepower. Depending on the version, they will be combined with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic transmission. The traction may be simple or integral.
The design of the Fiat Titano and the Peugeot Landtrek is already known, but not the Ram. Surely in the coming months images will appear as a projection or with the body camouflaged to imagine it.
Production of the Argentine pickups would begin in 2025 and would take place at the Ferreyra plant, Córdoba, where the Fiat Cronos, the best-selling 0 km car in Argentina, is currently manufactured.
