Over the years, these numbers have gradually improved. managing to reach 710 thousand jobs in the region last monthwhich is higher than that of four years ago and the highest on record in the history of Biobío.
The registry was addressed by the regional work seremi, Sandra Quintanawho highlighted that «work has been done from different angles to bring employment figures back to where they were before the pandemic.»
«On the one hand, through the National Training and Employment Service (Sence), there has been training courses in areas such as mechanics, construction, entrepreneurship, cooking and otherswhich have made it possible to provide tools to men and women in the area to opt for formal employment,» the authority pointed out.
Likewise, he noted that «to generate the link between people with future jobs, The relationship that Sence maintains with the Omil (Municipal Labor Information Offices) has been fundamental. of each commune of the three provinces of the region, since, in this way, those who are trained can have job opportunities according to the tools acquired in these courses.
PUBLIC POLITICS
Among the public policies implemented it appears that through Sercotec they surrendered more than 4,700 million pesos in subsidies to support 941 entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile in Corfo were more than 13,700 million pesos in subsidies to support 513 SMEs, to which were added minimum wage subsidies to more than 11,800 MSMEs for a total amount of 9 thousand 461 million pesos.
Regarding these measures, the Seremi of Economy, Development and Tourism of Biobío, Javier Sepulvedaemphasized that «our region proves to be a resilient territory, with the capabilities to continue growing as has been demonstrated recently.
