«UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY» FOR THE COUNTRY TO «TAKE A PHOTO»
For his part, the director of the INE, Ricardo Vicuña, stressed that the Census is a «unique opportunity that the country has to really take a photo where we all count.»
The above, because «a population and housing census is naturally carried out from time to time: approximately, the international recommendations are to do it every 10 years», he added.
«(I hope) that we take this photo in a spirit of unity, because at the end of the day the data we have will allow us to know much better the needs of the population», Vicuña stated.
However, despite calls for collaboration and participation, The process has not been without criticism: he Movilh criticized this day for the exclusion of questions related to sexual orientation of the population.
