The president of the PRO and former presidential candidate of Together for Change, Patricia Bullrich will give a press conference this afternoonaccompanied by her former running mate, Luis Petri, in which they are expected definitions around a possible support for the candidate of La Libertad Avanza, Javier Mileiheading to the November 19 runoff.
Bullrich’s meeting with the press – scheduled for 12 at Hipólito Yrigoyen 434 – will take place after the dinner he had last night with former president Mauricio Macri.
Previously, the PRO had suspended today for the second time the party meeting scheduled for this morning where the position of the party was going to be analyzed before the second round between Milei and Sergio Massa.
A source supporting the PRO clarified that at this time in Macri’s founded party, not only the hypothetical support for La Libertad Avanza is being decided, but also the profile that the leadership of the PRO itself will have and also its role in Together for Change.
Mauricio Macri and Javier Milei talk constantly, although the former president still has a hard time getting the coalition on board in supposed support for the libertarianand there are even no coincidences on the matter within the PRO itself.
Meanwhile, the UCR will gather its leadership this afternoon in a meeting where the only certainty is the rejection of Milei’s figure. The appointment is at 2 p.m. at the National Committee, located at 1786 Alsina Street in this capital.
Although party authorities, such as María Luisa Storani, encouraged a possible support for Massa, the presidential candidate of Unión por la Patria, party sources said that the scenario is “open.”
In this context, it is not known whether radicalism will make a clear decision today about its position towards the November 19 runoff. “The rejection of Milei is certain. He represents values very contrary to the UCR. Regarding support for Massa, although some are going to raise it, there is no majority consensus. It is possible that a conclusive definition will not emerge today.”explained a source familiar with the centenary party.
At the bottom, in radicalism there is a strong debate between those who think that Massa must be decisively supported and among those who want to give freedom of action to their members and supporters towards the second electoral round, just as the Civic Coalition did.
Where there are coincidences is in questioning both Milei, with whom they clarify that no negotiation is possible, and also former president Mauricio Macri, whom they accuse of bankrupting Together for Change.
Another of the meetings called for today will be held at 6 p.m. between the eight elected governors of JxC who will meet at the Casa de Corrientes, at 271 Maipú Street, and in which the position of the coalition in the runoff and will also be discussed. the dispute over the leadership of the front, they confirmed to Télam from that space.
The elected governors Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe), Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza), Claudio Poggi (San Luis), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Ignacio Torres (Chubut), will participate. Leandro Zdero (Chaco) and the future head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macri.
The governor of Corrientes, the host Gustavo Valdés, will also be present, who has another two years left in his term.
The first member party of Together for Change to give its official position on the runoff was the Civic Coalition (CC), announcing that it will not support “neither (Sergio) Massa nor (Javier) Milei” since “they propose irresponsible governments.” based on moral and political impossibilities and pact of impunity.”
