Gal Gadot recently shared her willingness to reprise her role as the Evil Queen in a possible spin-off film of the live-action Disney movie, Snow White. While attending the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Guild Snow Dance Gala, Gadot expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, «I would love to do that. Yes.» She even jokingly called out Disney CEO Bob Iger, saying, «Say [Disney CEO] Shilling [Iger]. Bob, I will do it.»
The 2025 remake of Snow White, which featured Rachel Zegler as the titular princess and Andrew Burnap as her love interest Jonathan, performed poorly at the box office. It became the fourth Disney live-action remake to fail to break even, grossing $205.7 million on an estimated budget of $240 to $270 million. Other remakes that also did not recover their budget include Dumbo (2019), Mulan (2020), and The Little Mermaid (2023).
The film’s lack of success has been attributed to various factors, including controversies surrounding Rachel Zegler’s statements and behavior. Zegler faced backlash after expressing her pro-Palestinian political views on social media before the film’s release, leading to calls for a boycott. Producer Marc Platt reportedly asked Zegler to delete her posts, which she refused, causing further tensions.
Additionally, Zegler criticized the original Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, calling it old-fashioned and highlighting the problematic aspect of the princess ending up with someone who was «literally stalking her.»
Despite the challenges faced by the Snow White remake, Gal Gadot believes that external pressures were not the sole reason for its lack of success. She remains optimistic about the potential for a spin-off featuring her character, the Evil Queen. «El pasado fin de semana se llevó a cabo un evento en el que se presentaron diferentes artistas locales. El evento fue un éxito y contó con una gran asistencia de público. Los artistas demostraron su talento y recibieron una ovación por parte de los espectadores. Además, se realizaron actividades para toda la familia, como juegos y talleres creativos. Sin duda, fue una jornada llena de diversión y entretenimiento para todos los asistentes.»
