Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Hazbin Hotel Season 1, Episode 2.
Hazbin Hotel The song «Gravity» from season 2 could have major implications for Heaven after the debut episodes of season 2. The adult musical comedy show has a knack for blending musical theater styles with multiple genres, rather than sticking to just one style. This makes the Hazbin Hotel extremely relistenable soundtracks from seasons 1 and 2. We’re not stuck with the same sound.
Before Hazbin Hotel in the debut of season 2, they released two singles from the show, “Hazbin Guarantee (Trust Us)” and “Gravity.” While the latter was just the song, the punk rock song “Gravity” came with a very entertaining video of Lute breaking things and making angry threats, egged on by Adam.
“Gravity” quickly became a radio hit and the YouTube video racked up 4.1 million views before its debut. He had already promised revenge and violence towards hell after Adam, who now appears as a ghost, was killed. However, the song’s meaning within the larger story is different now that we have the accompanying episode.
Lute wants revenge on Hell for killing Adam despite Heaven’s hesitation to act.
Lute’s anger is palpable in “Gravity,” and she’s clearly ready to slaughter some sinners. As the lyrics say, «an eye for an eye says you owe me a debt.» Because she clearly loved Adam, she feels she is entitled to retribution.
However, «gravity» occurs in Hazbin Hotel season 2 shortly after Lute is not only silenced but demoted from leader of Hell’s to lieutenant again, taking orders from Patrick Stump’s dim-witted but lovable Abel. It is being led by someone with no combat experience or tactical strategy skills.
Lute Might Try to Get Other Angels on His Side in Hazbin Hotel Season 2
Although hateful, Lute is a capable leader when it comes to war. She already hatched a plan with Lilith to go down to hell and stop the possible uprising against heaven. Although he was told to back down, Lute doesn’t seem like the type to back down from a fight.
As such, Lute may try to get more angels on her side, making her Vox’s foil. While he tries to win over the sinners, she could be trying to win over the angels who doubt Sera’s leadership. Several expressed concern about Sera’s decision-making ability when Sir Pentious was being interrogated in Hazbin Hotel episode 2.
