How to prepare croissants without butter: easy and delicious
Ingredients for 24 units
- 500 g of 0000 flour
- 5 g dry yeast
- 90 g of sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 ml of milk
- 50 ml vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation:
- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, beat the egg with the milk, oil and vanilla, dry yeast and sugar. Then you proceed to mix it and then add the flour, and you have to beat until the dough is formed.
- Knead: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 3 to 4 minutes, until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour; if it is too dry, add a little more milk.
- Levado: Form the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in volume. It is then stretched into a 2 mm thick rectangular shape.
- Form the crescents: Then you begin to cut the triangles, each one can be stretched a little more so that there are more turns and a cut is made at the widest tip and from there it begins to be rolled.
- Place the croissants on a baking tray lined with baking paper. and you leave them until they double their size.
- Paint the croissants with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the croissants for 20-25 minutes, or until golden.
