An economist from La Libertad Avanza (LLA) opened a new chapter in the internal conflict that breaks out week after week around Javier Milei. This time, the reproach was that the candidate’s campaign team keeps the main economic advisors «blocked», while giving air to «the oddities» of breaking with the Vatican or privatizing the oceans.
The one who raised the cry was Carlos Rodríguez, one leg of the tripod on which Milei’s adjustment, privatization and dollarization program is based. They ask that economist, along with the Menemists Roque Fernández and Darío Epstein, “not to appear in the media” but “only on Twitter,” as he himself revealed.
Through this social network, Rodríguez said that “it occurred to someone on the LLA communications team that Milei as an Economy COMMUNICATOR may have reached his ceiling.”
Therefore, he continued, “The two exclusive appointees” were Guillermo Francos and Diana Mondinothe first is the virtual Minister of the Interior in an eventual LLA government and the other would be the chancellor who recognized British sovereignty over the Malvinas.
The inmates around Javier Milei
“I am blocked, just like Darío or Roque,” Rodríguez questioned in his message that circulated like wildfire. “They ask us not to appear in the media,” he continued. Media chief Leandro Vila has been asking me for months. That’s why I never appear on TV or Radio or Newspapers. Just Twitter.”
Until these messages, Milei’s small table had not shown its internal cracks. Yes, she had done it in other fields, like when she lcosplayer and elected representative Lilia Lemoine presented her unusual project to renounce paternity. Or when Milei’s mentor, Alberto Benegas Lynch, asked to break diplomatic relations with the Vatican.
And those were not the only ones. Greater controversies were unleashed by Benegas Lynch Jr., with his ineffable idea of privatizing the ocean and its marine fauna.and Ramiro Marra who started fighting with journalists and selling dollars during a caravan through the streets.
«They ask me not to appear in the media and I have to bank on the oddities of libertarians»
While all this was happening, the LLA economic team was forced to remain silent until it now exploded.
“They ask me not to appear in the media and I have to bank on the oddities of libertarians about punctured condoms, the Vatican, privatizing the oceans and Rothbard things,” Rodríguez posted.
In his X thread, former Twitter, Rodríguez did not stop his anger: “Since I have been an advisor to Milei, I have never been consulted on economics,” He encouraged and justified why it would be important for his word to be authorized to be heard publicly:
“The vast majority of people who consult me think that Javier does NOT have an economics team.” and that Macri is going to wear it later. It would be very bad to reach the runoff with that image,” he continued.
Milei, far from the economy
Strictly speaking, Even Milei himself stopped giving many explanations about his plans. In several he directly came out to retract his statement. For example, in social plans (before I said that they had to be eliminated and now that they have to be maintained); in transportation subsidies or in the closure of ministries.
And not to mention the economic plan. In fact, when he is consulted about dollarization and the destruction of the Central Bank, he responds with short sentences and without many clarifications or definitions.
The lesson was learned from Patricia Bullrichwhich not only failed due to making water in its economic arguments but also due to the early presentation of its imagined Minister of Economy Carlos Melconian.
Even so, for Carlos Rodríguez, “The longer Milei takes to announce his Minister of Economy, the less time this professional will have to assemble his teams.” and the less time voters will have to get to know him.”
For him, “a Minister of Economy could raise the ceiling if he says new and interesting things that are not scary”. However, he made it clear that, despite being against his exclusion in the public debate, he will support “that decision until the ballot is held and it is finally decided who will be our president.”
«It’s late dear, there is no house»
While Fernández shared his opinions on the social network, several users came out to argue for and against his statements. One of them reproached him for having aired that internal situation. And Fernández’s response was extremely suggestive:
-Carlos, the cloths are washed at home.
«It’s already late, dear,» the economist resigned, «there is no house.»
