Within the framework of the celebration of Heritage Day, the Minister of Public Works, Jessica Lopezannounced this Sunday details of the heritage restoration portfolio currently promoted by the MOP, through the Architecture Department.
«It is a source of joy and pride to open the doors of the ministry to the citizens and also tell them about the great work of heritage rescue that we are carrying out throughout the country, and that This year it contemplates an investment of more than 75 billion pesos in works of great historical value, cultural and tourist«, reported the Secretary of State.
«We value the level of participation in the celebration of Heritage Day and we welcome it as an incentive to continue working harder to recover our heritage for all Chileans and also for future generations«added the head of the MOP, who this day took different citizen tours of the MOP building, which dates back to 1904.
The MOP Architecture Department is the main developer of heritage restoration works in the country, It currently has a large portfolio of 12 works in the design stage, construction or already completed.

OUTSTANDING WORKS
One of the emblematic works recently completed is the restoration of the San Francisco de Valparaíso Church and conventwhich was closed for 11 years due to damage from different fires and has already opened its doors to the community again.
Others finished restorations They are the Iquique Theater; the Mussel Museum; the Villa Viña de Cristo Palace in Copiapó; and the Nuestra Señora de la Merced de Codegua church.
While, in the process of restoration The Pauly House is located in the Los Lagos Region; the Santa Juana de Guadalcázar Fort in the Biobío Region; and the trails in the Cueva de las Manos in the Jeinimeni Lake National Reserve in the Aysén Region.
