NBC Cancels ‘Found’ After Only Two Seasons
It has been a difficult day for fans of NBC’s lineup as several dramas and comedies have been eliminated in a matter of hours. Shows like Night Court, López vs. López, and Costumes: The have all been canceled. Two other series that seemed promising for renewal have also reached the end of the road.
Deadline has confirmed that the crime drama Found has been canceled by NBC. Despite Warner Bros. Television considering finding a new home for the show, declining viewership and budgetary priorities led to the decision to cancel. Another show, The Irrational, was also canceled for similar reasons.
Reasons Behind the Cancellation of ‘Found’
Although Found started strong with 10.5 million viewers in its premiere, viewership declined significantly in the second season. NBC’s changing budget and programming priorities, with a focus on the NBA agreement, played a role in the decision to cancel several shows, including Costumes and The Irrational.
The cast of Found, led by Shanola Hampton, may find a new platform, but the chances are slim once a show has been canceled. The series was praised for its willingness to evolve its characters and storylines, making it stand out in the crowded TV landscape.
Our Take on the Cancellation of ‘Found’
Created by Nkechi Okoro Carroll and executive produced by a talented team, Found never shied away from taking risks and making bold storytelling choices. While the show’s cancellation is disappointing, fans can catch the conclusion of Season 2 on May 15th on NBC.
