The members of the Rafaela Municipal Council experienced a very emotional morning when they shared a warm moment with the grandparents of the Magdalena de Lorenzi Nursing Home.
This valuable institution opened its doors on May 23, 1939, thanks to the Ladies’ Benevolent Society headed by Magdalena de Lorenzi. The goal has always been to provide care and support to older adults.
The councilors toured the facilities of the establishment located in the 9 de Julio neighborhood, spoke with the workers, learned about the activities being carried out and the proposals they have for the future.
The most significant moment was the breakfast that the councilors shared with the 37 grandparents. There they talked about their life stories, their daily routines, their habits and the games they play.
Upon receiving the diploma where the Rafaela Municipal Council recognizes the 85 years of work, the director of the Home, María Alejandra Alderete, commented: “We are immensely grateful that the councilors have visited us. It is very important that grandparents feel supported and visited by officials, who have a very important role in city politics.”
For his part, Lisandro Mársico, President of the local Legislative Body, assured: “We shared a beautiful breakfast with the grandparents. We thank the managers who have received us with so much affection. We enjoyed a morning talking with the grandparents, and we also exchanged ideas and opinions about their stay at home and how their lives are going at this time.”
Councilor Mabel Fossatti, at the end of the visit, stated: “This is a very important week for the Home, today the councilors have lived a wonderful experience together with all the grandparents and workers who make up this valuable institution.”
