Within the framework of a case for rustling (rustling, in popular jargon), the members of the Villa de Leales-Este Rural and Environmental Crimes Division carried out raids on the home of an individual suspected of stealing 5 horses.
It was the owner of the stolen animals who filed the complaint after he noticed the absence of the horses he owned in the town of Los Herrera, in Leales. After becoming aware of the case, the uniformed officers began the task of raking the animals. the area, finding the whereabouts of one of the stolen animals. Tracking the tracks of the other horses, the officers arrived at the home of a family known as “Los Monos”, where they found two more animals, while a third had been slaughtered. The whereabouts of the fourth are still unknown.
By order of the judge Isolina Apas Pérez de Nucci, the officers raided the homes of the three suspects of that family, located in that town. Although they were not able to find the missing animals, they found the presence of wild birds in captivity at the home, the result of poaching. The birds, which were crammed into eight cages/traps, were seized for violation of Provincial Law No. 6,292 on the Protection of Flora, Wildlife and Soil. The authorities of this organization ordered their transfer to the Horco Molle reserve, where a group of professionals will proceed with the rehabilitation and release into their habitat.
In the middle of the operation, a family member, also accused of livestock theft, arrived at the raided home with a bag containing seven Dorado fish.
