“It seems to me that the president does not know what he is doing. He doesn’t know what it’s like to preside over a country. He does not know that he has to seek unity,” said the legislator from the Radical Civic Union. Agustín Romano Norri when analyzing the national situation and the position of its space in the national context. In a television talk he noted the following:
-What is the situation of the Radical Civic Union in Tucumán?
-” Radicalism is working. It is mobilized, the Government Board has met, on Monday, also next Monday. We have been working with an extension of the mandates given by the National Committee, which have been extended until September 1, which is the date on which internal elections have been called. The current authorities are, obviously, going to continue working with each of the supporting organizations in the face of what is to come. It was what we had been proclaiming: The need for an extension so that the economic-social situation we are experiencing passes a little and we have just made an election of authorities. And why did we say an extension of Roberto Sánchez’s mandate? Roberto Sanchez?: because he had been, by consensus, elected by all internal sectors, as the president of the party. So I think it was a transition period until new authorities are formed. An internal election is called, there may be a consensus or there may be an internal election. And, based on that, radicalism has to continue working throughout the province. The different departmental boards have been called on Monday to continue working in their municipalities, with the daily agenda that the municipalities have, obviously, the party convention and the governing board, which are the supreme bodies. I think that is the way. Radicalism has to work, stop looking at its navel, it has to listen to the demands of society. We have an extremely important challenge next year and, I am convinced, that radicalism will emerge well from next year’s election, regardless of the national scenario, based on the joint work of all sectors.”
-You supported (Javier) Milei.
-” No. I voted for Milei in the runoff. But the vast majority of my friends, leaders, all worked to Sergio Massa. But I understood that the country had to change.”
-And what do you feel: do you think Milei continues to respond to you?
-” No. The truth is that I am totally disappointed. It seems to me like a president who doesn’t listen, a president who talks about liberalism talks about (Juan Bautista) Alberdi, but it does not represent republican values, democratic values. So I think differently than him. And one is caste, one is old politics. Here he has to sit down and talk with Congress. In Congress there are all political parties, all ideological thoughts, elected by all Argentines and it has to respect that. He has to respect radicalism. All the time he talks bad about radicalism and then he asks us to accompany him with the votes in Congress. He has accompanied him, radicalism, in the Chamber of Deputies. In the Senate he is also accompanied, but in politics it is about generating consensus, dialoguing and generating meeting points. So it seems to me that The president doesn’t know what he’s doing. He doesn’t know what it’s like to preside over a country. He does not know that he has to look for unity and he believes that he is still campaigning and the campaign is already over.”
