WARNING: The video interview above contains spoilers for «Eenie Meanie.»
Screalrant hosted a screening and Q&A session for Samara Weaving’s new comedy thriller, Eenie Meanie. The event provided insight into the film and its production. The story follows Weaving’s character, Edie, a skilled getaway driver who must confront her past to save her ex-boyfriend, John, played by Karl Glusman.
The review by Screalrant suggests that the film deserved a theatrical release but is currently available on Hulu. The screening at Regal North Hollywood offered viewers a complete movie experience. Following the film, Screalrant‘s Ash Crossan moderated a Q&A session with Weaving, Glusman, and writer/director Shawn Simmons.
The Q&A session delved into the film’s creation, Weaving’s attraction to the role of Edie, and more. Weaving even shared a skill she had to quickly learn before filming. Here’s a glimpse:
Screenrant: Is it true, Samara, that you didn’t know how to drive before the movie? What’s the story behind this?
Shawn Simmons: She fibbed in the interview. [Laughs] Fibbed to get the job.
Samara Weaving: Yes, I may have stretched the truth and claimed, ‘I can absolutely drive. No worries.’ But then, I quickly enrolled in Melrose Driving School, where a instructor named Adam taught me. Next thing I knew, I was learning controlled donuts and slides from acrobatic pilots. I thought, ‘This is a breeze!’
There’s a reason people learn to drive at 15 when their brains aren’t fully developed. At 30, you realize, ‘The only reason my car doesn’t hit others is because of the paint on the ground and flashing lights.’ That’s it!
Screenrant: Would you trust Samara behind the wheel now?
Karl Glusman: When I ride with Sam, there’s always a professional driver present. But I trust her. I trust you, Sam.
