The Legal Medical Service (SML) reported this Monday that the Fatal victims of the forest fires in the Valparaíso Region increased to 122 people.
Based on a report last updated at 12:00 p.m., the institution details that 32 deceased have been identified and 40 autopsies have been performed.
During this same day, the delivery of the bodies of the victims to the next of kin will begin, they specified from the institution.
Marisol Pradodirector of the SML, said that «We are making identifications through biometrics, we are making identification through fingerprints and we will also make identifications through DNAand today we are carrying out the process of handing over the deceased in the afternoon, in conjunction with the coordination we have with the Prosecutor’s Office.»
«The forensic agency reiterates its condolences to the families of the victims of this tragedy and maintains its commitment to continue acting as quickly as possible to provide a rapid response to those affected,» they stressed.
