The heavy rains that have affected the Region of La Araucanía since the early hours of this Friday and that are accompanied by snowfall in the foothills, have hindered the normal traffic of motorists in communities such as Curarrehue and Lonquimayforcing the authorities to carry out clearing work on the roads that will be extended during the weekend.
Regarding the situation in La Araucanía, the regional director of Senapred, Janet Medranoexplained that he declared preventive early warning following reports from the Chilean Meteorological Directorate, which warn of «precipitation and winds that could reach normal to moderate ranges«, which means rainfall close to 50 millimeters in different areas and winds that could even reach up to 50 kilometers per hour.»
In the case of Temuco, 17 municipal brigades will work throughout this weekend with tours in the neighborhoods to help in eventualities that could arise as a result of this frontal system.
