The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Harvesting
Star Whitney Peak revealed that she spoke with franchise newcomer Rachel Zegler after being cast in the next film, an adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ prequel novel. The cast members, including Joseph Zada and McKenna Grace, were announced in April. Directed by Francis Lawrence, who worked on all but one Hunger Games film, the 2026 movie will portray a young Haymitch Abernathy and his experience in the annual event.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Peak shared that joining Dawn in the Harvest was a «warm welcome» and expressed gratitude. Peak also mentioned that she is «trying not to get too overwhelmed» about the upcoming production and that fellow star Rachel Zegler reached out to her and provided support. Read Peak’s comments below:
«Everything happened very fast, but it is very led by many incredible women, and I feel very lucky to be part of that. I think I have been trying not to feel too overwhelmed, not think about that until it happens, until we are in it. […] Rachel approached and gave me a little love, and I know it was really huge. It was really incredible. The support that arrived was really lovely. I was terrified, to be completely honest. […] I thought: ‘Oh, well, I don’t know if I have the opportunity to get this or do this, if I am the right person for the job.’ I just kept selling myself short and I doubted myself before giving myself a chance. Then, obtaining the role and being accepted into this world and given the opportunity has been very fundamental to me and my development, my self-confidence, my self-esteem, and my relationship with myself. It’s like, you know what, yes, we belong here. We can move on.»
And there is space for us everywhere.
What this means for dawn in harvest
Peak has Zegler’s support
Union The Hunger Games, a broad commercial success, and applicable comments can be transcendental for the actors. Dawn in the Harvest has already touched the emotions of Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Maya Hawke, and other cast members, similar to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes when it was revealed that Zegler played Lucy Gray Baird.
