Next Friday, the highest leaders of agricultural entities, Nicolas Pino (MRS), Carlos Achetoni (FAA), Carlos Castagnani (CRA), and Elbio Laucirica (Coninagro), will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Diana Mondino. The meeting will have as its central axes the meat export market and the status of the Mercosur-European Union (EU) agreement.
In dialogue with TN, Achetonipresident of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA)expressed: “The expectation is to exchange views on different aspects that involve sales abroad.the location of our production and the situation of the environmental requirements of the European Union. We will also address the status of the EU-Mercosur agreement and, among other topics, we will focus on the market exporter of the meats and bilateral relations.”

Meanwhile, prior to this meeting, agricultural leaders already addressed these issues at the National Wheat Table, held in Córdoba, where they expressed unanimous support for the liberalization of markets and the first steps towards deregulation.
“Many times it is said as an expression of wish, as something that will never be achieved, but it must be essential that there is a concrete possibility that export duties will be withdrawn,” said Achetoni. In addition, the leader proposed from the Agrarian Federation that they withdraw from the first tons of production

In this context, with a climate of expectationthe meeting of the chancellor with the link table will seek to find meeting points and consensus to promote the development of the agro-export sector and alleviate tensions between the Government and the countryside.
In relation to withholdings, Laucirica highlighted the coincidence among agricultural entities in the perception that export duties are counterproductive to economic growth and job creation.

At the same time, one of the central topics under discussion is the carbon footprint of Argentine agricultural productionpresented as a competitive advantage over other countries.
Castagnani, in line with the rest of his peers, ratified the meeting with the minister. And he pointed out that issues related to the meat export market and bilateral relations.
In the midst of environmental concerns and tensions arising from the withholdings proposed in the Omnibus Law, the Government’s call to the liaison table seeks to move on common ground towards solutions for the agricultural sector and the economy in general.
