The Minister of Finance, Mario Marcelreported this Friday that the Government sent a letter to the State Defense Council (CDE) to file a complaint against those responsible in the so-called audio case.
These recordings, starring the lawyer Luis Hermosillayour colleague Leonarda Villalobos and the businessman Daniel Sauerare investigated by alleged bribe payments to officials of the Internal Revenue Service (SII) and the Financial Market Commission (CMF).
Faced with this noisy scandal, Marcel highlighted that «all institutions are acting with the utmost diligence«, among them their portfolio, in which they sent a letter to the CDE this Thursday «asking it to file a complaint with those responsible for the situations that have been revealed by these recordings, given the information that has been accumulating in the following days«.
«We hope that the State Defense Council can finally file a complaint, become part of this process as a representative of the interests of the treasury«explained the Secretary of State.
In other matters of administrative aspects, the head of the fiscal portfolio indicated that «More internal investigations are being done in Internal Revenue, in the CMF and we also ask the Comptroller General of the Republic to initiate an investigation and to share information on the services involved with the Comptroller’s Office.»
«So we are acting on all possible fronts in this regard,» Marcel noted.
