The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van KlaverenI affirm that Venezuela has not collaborated in the investigation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office for the murder of the former military officer of that country Ronald Ojedaopenly dissident of the Government of Nicolás Maduro and political asylum in Chile, kidnapped from his apartment in Santiago on February 21 and found dead 10 days later buried under cement.
In an interview published this Sunday with The Mercurythe chancellor stressed that his portfolio aspires «for there to be a response to the information requirements requested by the Chilean Public Ministry and we support that request.»
«We are waiting for a response from the Venezuelan authorities, who have expressed their willingness to cooperate,» but «not until now (they haven’t done it)»said Van Klaveren.
«We have had no news, unless the Public Ministry has other information»he added.
Last month, the Public Ministry issued an order of international criminal assistancein order for Venezuela to collaborate in clarifying the former lieutenant’s crime.
