The president of the Environment Commission of the Legislature of Jujuy, Valeria Gómezconfirmed that it is planned to convene the rector of the National University of Jujuy (UNJu), Mario Bonillofor “talk about water and lithium” on that work table, because “it is “a topic that concerns all of us from Jujuy”.
The legislator made this advance when commenting on some of the topics addressed this Wednesday at the ordinary meeting of the commission she presides called to outline her work agenda for the coming weeks and advance the debate on projects that were sent to her for analysis.
Firstly, the members of the commission agreed that Engineer Mario Bonillo, rector of UNJu, will be invitedto explain about “a topic that concerns all of us in Jujuy”what is “water and lithium.”
“We are going to extend the invitation to Rector Bonillo to receive him at the Commission, so that we can «Prepare an expanded report on how our province is doing with respect to this issue.»said the representative of the Justicialist bloc.
Another of the topics addressed by the Environment Commission in the meeting held in the “Pilar Bermúdez” room of the Legislature was the participation of a Jujuy parliamentary delegation at a meeting of Connected Legislatures to be held next month in Buenos Aires.
In this regard the Deputy Gómez announced that a group of legislators who are members of the commission will lead the representation of Jujuy to the sixth Meeting of Federal Commissions of Connected Legislatures to take place in the city of Buenos Aires on May 13 and 14.
It was stipulated that the delegation will be composed of the deputies Olga Ramos, Daniela Vélez, Cynthia Alvarado and her own Valeria Gomez.
The meeting was called to elect its new authorities, determine “the topics that will be discussed this year and also what the meeting points will be” for the next meetings.
JUJUY GOES FOR EVERYTHING
In that line Gomez He said that the Jujeña delegation has the mandate to nominate its members “for the positions of presidency and first and second vice-presidencies”as well as propose Jujuy as the venue for a federal meeting in the course of the year.
In this way, “our province could be the one that receives all the Environment Commissions in the country and all their presidents,” he encouraged.
Meanwhile, the outlined work plan foresees carrying out “outings, visits and actions, within the framework of June 5, which is Environment Day”he anticipated.
Regarding the projects that are analyzed within the Environment Commissionmentioned two in particular, one of which refers to the creation of a registry of environmental organizations that have operations in the province.
The remaining project – which finds precedent in an initiative activated in 2019 by the Executive Branch – contemplates the creation of a provincial program called “A Boy or Girl is Born, a Tree is Born”which consists of the planting ten native trees for each birth registered in Jujuy, in the period of one year.
