The third meeting of the industrial sector with the IPAAT, held last Wednesday, May 22, chaired by the vice-president of the board Bernabe Alzabedirector Ricardo Veliz and the manager of the Institute Jorge Etchandyaimed at analyzing the progress of the 2024 harvest, facing international markets, within the framework of a record harvest in the province.
Representatives of the 14 Tucuman mills participated in the meeting: Por Leales, Sebastian Budeguer, Jorge Rocchia Ferro and Catalina Rocchia Ferro of the La Florida Cruz Alta and Aguilares sugar mills, by the La Providencia sugar mill Fernando Albañil, Martin Luquerepresenting the Concepción and Marapa sugar mills, Miguel Pappalardofrom the Bella Vista mill, Marcelo Casadeyby the Ñuñorco mill, from Santa Bárbara, Bernardo Espindola and Rodrigo Salazar Romero, José María Estofán and Rodolfo SanchezSanta Rosa mill, Julian VargasLa Trinidad mill and Martin Arano, by the La Corona sugar mill. It was also attended by the president of the Regional Sugar Center of Tucumán, Juan Carlos Mirande.
The participants of the meeting assured that they would meet the volumes committed for the export of sugar. Likewise, the decision was made that 600,000 tons of sugar be diverted to the production of bioethanol and in this way achieve the established objectives, guaranteeing internal and external consumption and cutting back on biofuels.
Etchandy explained that “from the IPAAT and the Ministry of Economy and Production we are very satisfied with the call for today’s meeting, all the representatives of the sugar mills attended, and this allows for joint work from the entire sector since the new management began.” , highlighting that the meetings will continue, with the approval of the private sector, to organize, analyze and coordinate the harvest, and that in this way, the objectives can be achieved, so that all areas of the industry benefit.
