The club Santa Fe Union will celebrate the 117th anniversary with the organization of the Red and White Tide marathona running event that will attract lovers of the activity as well as fans.
The event will take place on Sunday April 21 and there is already great expectation, with the idea of exceeding the thousand registered from the last edition.
The test will have distances of 10 kilometres (competitive) and 4k (participatory), a 2k race for kids, as well as a two-kilometer “pet friendly” event so that pairs made up of dogs and humans can participate.

The route of the Red and White Tide Marathon
Regarding the main distance travel, The runners start in the area of the suspension bridge on the Santa Fe Costanera, heading along a straight path along the entire Costanera, in front of an imposing landscape. Then, you will pass by the Basilica of Guadalupe, an icon of the city, returning to the starting point.
As to outstanding athletes Those who will join the event include well-known and highly experienced competitors, such as Carlos Johnson from Santa Fe and Leonardo Castro from Rioja, who is part of the Argentine national team and has a hearing loss.
There will also be added large runners from different parts of the country, raising the level of participants in the 10 kilometer race.
The awards
For this year, the area of Union club athletics will carry out the 10k test with awards for the top five in the general classification, as well as recognition for the winners of each of the categories.
Furthermore, also there will be awards for the best of the general classification in the 4 kilometer distance, as well as in recreational races for children and pets.

One of the organizers of the event, Jona Stehlik, Athletics coordinator of the Club Atlético Unión de Santa Fe, explained that the marathon is organized in order to “raise funds for disciplinewhich has a large number of followers.”
“In the last two years, athletics in the club grew a lot, in addition to having a running group. During the year we participate in different competitions and that encourages more people,” he said.
As for the runner kitthe runners who sign up will receive the t-shirt, number and race chip, hydration and fruit during the event, the finisher medal after crossing the finish line and the little ones will be able to enjoy an ice cream.
